Newspapers
Are delivered to the home on a daily basis and are available on request.
Hairdresser
Cynthia Smerdon is our in house hairdresser and she visits every Wednesday. She provides a range of services including perms, shampoo and set, wash and blow dry. For the gentlemen - simple haircuts are available.
Chiropodist
Rosemary Targett attends every six weeks and offers excellent domiciliary care for our clients needs. Her charge is £13.00 to all residents who wish to avail themselves of this service.
Optician
Vision Call has been attending to residents' needs for some time now and offer a free testing service to clients in the home. In many cases frames and lenses are also free (subject to clients' income). They also provide certificated training for the staff so they can better understand the problems encountered by clients who are visually challenged.
Dentist
The local dental surgery - Croydon House Practice - pay domiciliary visits to the home on a regular basis and will attend for emergencies.
Mail
Incoming post is distributed on a daily basis.
Mobile Library
Visits the home and books are changed approximately every 3 months. If clients have any special interests or requirements please ask a member of staff who will endeavour to arrange for specific types of books to be delivered. A good variety of LARGE PRINT books are also available as well as spoken word tapes.
Nail Technician
Amanda Rhodes visits once a month - she is Creative Nail Design trained and offers all aspects of nail care.
Televisions
Are available in the Garden Room and the Old Lounge for communal viewing. There is also a video machine in the Garden Room for watching pre-recorded programmes and films. We have recently added a Panasonic 42" plasma screen TV with cinema surround sound in the Garden Room
Telephone
If you require a private telephone line, this can be connected to your own room but you are liable for any cost incurred.
Pets
Are allowed by prior arrangement with the Management but their upkeep is the sole responsibility of each resident. We are registered with the Cinnamon Trust as a pet friendly home.
